For when we head away from the brightness of the summer and towards the the gorgeous colours and crisp air of the new season, here’s our round up of nourishing and nurturing retreats to soothe your spirit this coming Autumn.
8th – 13th October
A Snapshot From The Hosts: Experience an out of this world yoga and wellness retreat in Iceland. You will spend 5 nights in two award-winning luxury design hotels exploring various locations and landscapes of Iceland’s southwest region.
Explore the land of fire and ice with other Solo Female Travelers on this exclusive luxury wellness and wilderness tour that will take you to the country’s most stunning sites.
All excursions and activities are planned out for you including the Golden Circle (Thingvellir National Park, Skógafoss and Gullfoss waterfalls, geysers), northern lights, Icelandic horses, see lava flowing at Fagradalsfjall, a premium pass at Blue Lagoon, Seljalandsfoss waterfall and Reynisdrangar black beach.
We will split our retreat between two lovely boutique hotels – both in and outside of the city centre of Reykjavik. That way we can experience the various landscapes and cultures of this amazing country.
We’ll start out our time in the heart of downtown Reykjavik at the brand new Centerhotel Miðgarður, a well-appointed hotel located in the city centre, next to the main shopping and site streets of this compact city. There’s an on-site spa and restaurant, and comfortable, newly-appointed, modern rooms.
Then after our time in the city, we’ll head to the countryside to one of Iceland’s most prized and talked-about design hotels: the Ion Adventure Hotel.
1st – 6th November
A Snapshot From The Hosts: We’re returning to our annual retreat in Venice, Italy – and we’ve added some fun new surprises. This enchanting city is the backdrop of a magical retreat – with daily yoga, creativity workshops, day trips, spas, masks, sites, gondolas, and gourmet meals.
Come away with us for a week in the magical part of Italy known as Venezia! Venice is a place unlike any other in the world, and to see it is to transport yourself back to the days of Casanova, masked balls, and Carnevale.
Oh, but there is so much more to Venice than what the usual tourist visit can offer. Our yoga retreat will allow for a deeper knowledge of Venice, its canals, and neighboring islands. We’re so excited to offer this retreat during a unique time to visit this amazing city – as it’s out of the main tourist season so you can get a deeper view into the local life.
This is one of our continued collaborations with Julian Hyzler from EASEL&LENS to combine a look at creative focus with art projects in sketching and “ifonography” (smartphone photography) throughout the week.
Yoga and meditation classes will be held daily to prepare our bodies and minds to find the calm in the magic that is Venice – and then these art projects will help us find news ways of seeing – both yoga and art working together to find focus in the many layers of history, water, and beauty of the Venetian landscape.
You will get to experience all the major forms of water transportation that the city offers, and there’s also plenty of time to explore on your own as well.
30 September – 5th October
A Snapshot From The Hosts: Explore the Atlas Mountains of Morocco with a personal guide, through the Imlil and Azzaden Valley and Berben villages, along footpaths and mule tracks which mount through the lush, irrigated terraces, apple orchards and walnut groves to other villages, where you will have a glimpse into a way of life that has barely changed for centuries, and where traditional values and hospitality have been largely unaffected by the outside world.
Your registered guide, from the local Berber community, is there to support you throughout your stay, discussing routes that you may want to explore as well as being a font of knowledge of Berber life in these magnificent mountain environs. The treks are adapted to your individual or groups level and pace with several treks of varying lengths to choose from.
The mountains are home to the indigenous Berber people who have inhabited Morocco for at least 5000 years. The Berbers live in small clusters of earthen adobe houses which cling precipitously to mountainsides and are often only accessible by mule or foot.
The High Atlas Mountains, which dominate the skyline to the south of Marrakech, have always played an important role for the city, not least with regard to commerce. Whilst Marrakech is in itself a fascinating city, a whole new experience awaits those who venture south into the mountains.
10 – 14 / 14 – 17 October
