We all know we could and should eat better, and doing that will have benefits for the way we show up for ourselves and what matters. But –

And that’s the thing. There’s always a but. This short session is about kicking that but to the kerb, so doing your ”shoulds” becomes easier, more attractive, more natural.

Sunita Passi’s but-kicking is administered in a gentle and respectful fashion. Her deep-seated understanding of Ayurveda’s healing principles starts with two simple facts.

Everything we do affects everything else we do. Relying on caffeine to have the energy for a meeting when sleeping better would have delivered it can throw your day off kilter.

We’re all going to have days when we feel better, and when that’s less the case. Nothing earth-shattering in those observations, right? Here’s two you may not be aware of:

The way you are fluctuates in ways that are predictable. Your body type, and ways of thinking and feeling go together more deeply than you can imagine.

Those factors, plus seasonal and other patterns, are explored through the lens of Ayurveda to provide a greater degree of reliable influence over how you perform than you’re used to.

What we’ll do in the session is gain personal understanding of three core ways in which people can be similar and different.

In Ayurveda they’re known as doshas. On a given day, we might be mostly one, or a mix of two. And working towards balance can be more straightforward with some simple changes about food choices and other fundamentals.
Sunita’s appreciation of Ayurveda began when she realised it was time for her career in journalism to come to a close.

A new chapter opened in India, where she realised a direct connection with her grandfather’s own Ayurvedic practice, and ways she could use her entrepreneurial skills to bring that gift to a wider audience – who’d benefit more from a shot of inspiration than a double shot espresso.

In building up her business, Sunita has always sought ways to create better and heartfelt choices. Not everyone can commit to a full Ayurvedic lifestyle – many of us can benefit by adopting some of the principles and practices.

They exist in the form of an extensive range of products Sunita has created, and trainings she offers covering subjects including massage and meditation.

All of it draws on timeless traditional teachings – with products derived from plants grown and prepared to the same formulations, and accessible to a broad contemporary audience. It’s a path that’s won her awards and acclaim, one she’s delighted to introduce to others.

Workshop Schedule:

• 2 x 30 minute seminars
Expanding your vision of health
Holistic tools specific to your dosha (body type)

• Discover: dosha quiz · cultivating wise choices
• Now it’s your turn: Q&A · wellbeing conversation

Meet Your Host – Sunita Passi: Award winning holistic practitioner. Host BBC radio | Heal Shift podcast. Author | Educator | TEDx.

At a time when physical and mental health have never been more in the spotlight, it is my belief that it’s time to heal healthcare and take greater responsibility for our own wellbeing.

Sunita brings 20 years of experience as both a practitioner and a trainer in the traditional Indian healing system of Ayurveda.

Known as ‘the science of life’, Ayurveda integrates diet, exercise, meditation and massage therapy in a potently holistic approach to keeping the mind, body and soul in harmony and balance. Its roots in Indian spirituality can be traced back over 5,000 years, and

Sunita’s mission has been to update these traditional approaches for 21st-century stresses. Originally a business journalist with an international lifestyle, Sunita was in India when she reached a turning point, and was drawn to Ayurveda as a way of reconnecting to her lineage as a healer.

Discovering the ability to realign her body, mind, spirit and heart, she never looked back. A frequent speaker and presenter, creator of bespoke spa programmes and founder of a sustainable bodycare product line Tri-Dosha, Sunita has trained hundreds of therapists around the world in diagnosis, bodywork, meditation and plant-derived medicines, bringing practical tools into people’s lives for natural health, inner calm and mental clarity, and a vision of holistic wellness for how we live today.

Join Sunita on the 12th of April at Mortimer House for an unmissable workshop!

Sunita Passi of Tri-Dosha

Sunita Passi was a career journalist whose abiding passion for natural, holistic wellness became her vocation, sparking a complete change of direction in her life journey. As a child, she had witnessed her grandfather, an Ayurvedic doctor named Hazari Lal Passi, treat his patients from his clinic in northern India. These memories stayed with her, shaping the powerfully grounding techniques in massage, meditation and mindfulness that are now the foundation of her training programmes. She founded Tri-Dosha in 2005 to make modern Ayurveda accessible to an increasingly health-conscious population looking for alternative, natural paths, via practitioner training and products to complement the treatments. In Sunita’s modern vision, there are no gurus or incense, although the award-winning skincare formulations do contain medicinal herbs sourced from independent farmers known to her grandfather. Alongside creating Tri-Dosha as an educational resource and award-winning premium skincare brand, Sunita is also an inspirational speaker. She teaches across a number of live and online platforms, plays host on BBC Radio Nottingham and also co-founded the meditation project Unplugged Space, which curates community meditation events.
