We have chosen a magical villa contoured by olive groves and organic gardens as the setting for our Summer 2021 14 Day 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Tuscany. Its elegant charm and serene atmosphere make it the perfect setting for learning and transformation.
Villa Gaia is located on a hill in southern Tuscany, between the green slopes of Monte Amiata, the Maremma and a stone’s throw from the Val d’Orcia and the famous Brunello hills. It can be reached from the nearby medieval village of Seggiano with an easy 5-minute country road between isolated farmhouses. Located to the south-west, it enjoys a unique view of part of the Val d’Orcia and the entire area below to the sea, touching the beautiful medieval village of Montenero.
Join us in southern Tuscany in the Seggiano region famous for olive oil and Brunello wines, not to mention their thermal baths! We’ve chosen Villa Gaia to host our Italy YTT this year as it is strategically located only an hour from Siena and Grosseto and two hours away from both Florence and Rome.
The sunsets every evening are a show that is renewed daily. It borders with the ruins of the ancient Hermitage of San Bernardino in an isolated position, where peace is literally absolute and the air, among the aromas of the generous earth, can also give some shade from the sea.
Our 200-hour YTT is where it all begins. This course offers a robust introduction to the Lakshmi Rising Hatha Vinyasa Flow method in an intensive, transformational environment. Lakshmi Rising’s YTT encompasses our mission of education, empowerment, and evolution; draws from many traditions; and emphasises more than the physical practice of yoga.
The Lakshmi Rising Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) program is unique, transformative, and highly regarded worldwide. Lakshmi Rising Hatha Vinyasa Yoga is an awareness-based practice that includes fluid, dynamic asana, kriya, pranayama, mantra, meditation, dance, wellness, self-care, and ritual for optimal health and personal growth. Our method is a revitalizing approach to develop mindful self-awakening and cultivate strength and flexibility on all levels through the practice of yoga.
This 14-day immersion intensive is followed by supplemental online coursework that can be completed within one year.
You’ll spend two weeks in intensive study in a luxurious environment, then finish the course remotely—at your own pace, and from anywhere.

The Villa Padronale is the main building and dates back to the 19th century. It has a sober, compact and elegant style with large interior spaces and generous terraces. It is divided into two large apartments, one of which is on the ground floor (275 square meters with five en suite bedrooms) and one on the first floor (175 square meters with three bedrooms and two bathrooms). The rooms are spacious and furnished in a simple and elegant way.
The Dependance was built later a short distance from the main building. With its 174 sqm and with its en suite four bedrooms. It maintains the generous style of space and of simple elegance.
The Yoga Shala, detached from the dwellings, is a large octagonal dome with parquet flooring and with a splendid view from the large windows of the surrounding trees. With its 85 sqm it will be comfortable for all of our asana and workshop sessions.
The Restaurant is a large room of 142 sqm and a spacious panoramic porch ideal for Gaia Gourmet al fresco dining and our sunset dinners.
Below the lodgings, between the lush greenery and the beautiful view of the valley, is the upper pool. With its dimensions of 12 x 6 m and a depth of 1.80 m to 1.40 m, it is excellent not only for cooling off but also for pleasant swimming. Beside the pool is a large gazebo sheltered from the sun with tables and chairs. Water, sunsets and scents will all be cherished in the silence of Villa Gaia.
As a part of our personal growth and wellness element of the training, we have some delightful cultural excursions planned for you. We will take a day trip to Castiglion Fiorentino to witness their annual Festa Medievale Bianco Azzurra, a reenactment ceremony (and party) of the life and times of the Medieval Period in the region.
We will also visit a boutique bio-dynamic vineyard and winery where the owners will host a special vegetarian lunch featuring a traditional Tuscan countryside menu paired with their unique and delicious wines.
Santo Stefano is a family-run organic farm of ancient origin. Since the 1700s the Bernardini family has dealt with high-quality production of wine, olive oil and honey handing down the love for the land and its produce from one generation to the next one.
Another highlighted excursion will be a day visit to infamous Cortona, the location where “Under The Tuscan Sun” was set. The town of Cortona itself is perched in the hills at the base of the Apennine mountains, between the gorgeous Adriatic and Tyrrhenian coasts.
Amongst the winding roads in the hillside one will find many artisan shops, cafes and restaurants and we will pay a special visit to the Molesini a& Sons Wine Market for a unique wine lesson and tasting experience accompanied by selected meat and cheese pairings.
The Molesini family established their love of wine-making in 1937 when Giovanni Molesini began managing the bottega and sold wine to local groceries. The passion for wine has been passed down through the generations and has led Marco Molesini, Giovanni’s son, to open a store dedicated exclusively to wines, where they have carefully selected over 1,200 labels for their customers.
Our final outing is to Terme San Giovanni thermal spa where we will spend the day relaxing, bathing in warm mineral pools and enjoying authentic European spa treatments for health and wellbeing.
