We have chosen a magical farmhouse contoured by a hundred holm oaks and a rose garden as the setting for our spring Yoga Teacher Training in Tuscany.
Its elegant charm and serene atmosphere is the perfect setting for learning and transformation. This charming farmhouse is 20 minutes outside of Cortona, the location where “Under The Tuscan Sun” took place. It is located near both of the infamous wine regions, Chianti and Montepulciano.
The town of Cortona itself is perched in the hills at the base of the Apennine mountains, between the gorgeous Adriatic and Tyrrhenian coasts. Cortona is a 30 minute drive northeast of Montepulciano (home of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano) and south of Arezzo, the heart of Chianti’s Colli Aretini. And nearby in the neighbouring province of Umbria is Lake Trasimeno. Tuscany is an enchanting setting for our Yoga Teacher Training to cultivate personal growth and exploration.
Our three week, 200 hour Yoga Alliance approved curriculum explores the fundamentals of teaching asana and pranayama, as well as techniques on how to develop creative and effective vinyasa sequences. It is the same Lakshmi Rising curriculum that we offer in Costa Rica.
We delve into the philosophy of yoga, different styles of meditation, the art of ritual and creating sacred space, ayurveda, anatomy of the physical and energetic bodies, the business of yoga and more. Not only will you deepen your own practice and self awareness, you will come away from this experience with all of the tools necessary to begin teaching and sharing your passion. *This training is taught in English.

The beautiful stone farmhouse, built in the 19th century, features panoramic views of the old castle of Montecchio and Cortona, a short drive from the farmhouse. S. Savino Mountain, Lucignano and the Trasimeno Lake are all close by, offering plenty of cultural attractions and the folklore of international renown.
The farmhouse is situated in the Chiana Valley, a beautiful natural environment characterised by low hills, each concealing an endless variety of landscapes. And nearby, there is a two and a half acre park surrounded by vineyards, olive and fruit trees: pears, wild cherries, hazels, figs, apricots, peaches, plums, grapes and more…
As a part of our personal growth and wellness element of the training, we have some delightful cultural excursions planned for you. We will take a day trip to Castiglion Fiorentino to witness their annual Festa Medievale Bianco Azzurra, a reenactment ceremony (and party) of the life and times of the Medieval Period in the region.
We will also visit a boutique bio-dynamic vineyard and winery where the owners will host a special vegetarian lunch featuring a traditional Tuscan countryside menu paired with their unique and delicious wines.
Santo Stefano is a family-run organic farm of ancient origin. Since the 1700s the Bernardini family has dealt with high-quality production of wine, olive oil and honey handing down the love for the land and its produce from one generation to the next one.
Another highlighted excursion will be a day visit to infamous Cortona, the location where “Under The Tuscan Sun” was set. The town of Cortona itself is perched in the hills at the base of the Apennine mountains, between the gorgeous Adriatic and Tyrrhenian coasts.
Amongst the winding roads in the hillside one will find many artisan shops, cafes and restaurants and we will pay a special visit to the Molesini a& Sons Wine Market for a unique wine lesson and tasting experience accompanied by selected meat and cheese pairings.
The Molesini family established their love of wine-making in 1937 when Giovanni Molesini began managing the bottega and sold wine to local groceries. The passion for wine has been passed down through the generations and has led Marco Molesini, Giovanni’s son, to open a store dedicated exclusively to wines, where they have carefully selected over 1,200 labels for their customers.
Our final outing is to Terme San Giovanni thermal spa where we will spend the day relaxing, bathing in warm mineral pools and enjoying authentic European spa treatments for health and wellbeing.
