Come and join us this autumn for our yoga retreat in East Sussex in our very own gorgeous family-owned cosy eco-home. Designed with living at one with nature and the environment in mind, our eco-house is fully sustainable.

Situated between the South Downs and the High Weald it is an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are surrounded by rolling hills and stunning views where you can enjoy a long walk or enjoy a visit to local historical villages and have tea and cake or simply relax at our secluded retreat and take time to relax and watch the world go by.

Yoga is in the yoga barn, with large windows that open up to the sounds of birdsong and views of the meadow. With yoga twice a day, daily silent walks, afternoon walks in surrounding woodlands or up high on the South Downs with stunning views and delicious vegan seasonal food and open fires this retreat is the perfect way to while away a weekend.

Yoga

On our autumn yoga retreat in East Sussex, the classes are suitable for all abilities. From beginners to intermediate and advanced levels. Everyone is welcome. Our inspiring and experienced teachers are well-practised at adapting the class to everyone’s level.

The yoga teacher will create a more dynamic class in the morning to warm the body and release tension and the evening class will be a restorative practice to enable deep relaxation with yoga Nidra.

Teacher

Louise is a warm and enlightening teacher who uses yoga to help you feel good! Louise has spent time in India, where she studied and practiced yoga extensively- training to teach vinyasa flow in the foothills of the Himalayas.

Cuisine

Nutritious and delicious vegetarian food is an integral part of our yoga retreats with an emphasis on warming and nourishing menus. Our food is gently detoxing, is all vegetarian, made without sugar or dairy products and low in wheat and gluten.

There are pre yoga snacks to support blood sugar levels. In the afternoon a wholesome healthy lunch is served and then, after evening yoga, there’s a wonderful 2 course dinner for you.

We bring our own Chefs with us who all have their own individual flair and genius to produce high quality vegetarian dishes. We offer fresh, local, seasonal and nutritious meals.

Accommodation

Our accommodation is a very lovingly constructed eco house and it has been created in such a way to work passively alongside nature instead of fight against it. The owners have rewilded their acreage and it inhabits wildlife such as a great crested newt, waterfowl, butterflies, bees and many more. As we are moving to become a carbon-neutral company we are very excited and pleased to be able to offer this venue to you.

Main House

It is a fully glass-backed house facing south in order to capture as much solar gain, that is, heat from the sun as possible. It also has temperature sensors that work with the ground source heating to manage the temperature of the house with little effects on the house carbon levels.

It is an open plan living area with kitchen, lounge and dining area together and another lounge/snug to relax in also.

Rooms

Upstairs stay in a choice of a single option or twin (two people sharing) en-suite rooms with a balcony overlooking the back meadow and natural pond.

Downstairs stay in a large single/double/twin option room or a small single – both sharing the same bathroom.

The Barn

This is where the yoga room is, a spacious room with bi-fold doors.

Barn Rooms

There are two double/twin en-suite rooms here as well as a self-contained private apartment with a downstairs lounge and kitchen and a mezzanine with a double bed for one or two people.

This venue sleeps between 12 – 14 guests

Itinerary

The yoga retreat starts from 4 pm on Friday with an hour before yoga to settle in a start to relax, with the first yoga class starting at 5 pm and dinner at 7pm.

The weekend retreat finishes at 12pm on Sunday after a silent morning walk, morning yoga and brunch.

How to get here

Car

Arriving by car means you have plenty of freedom to explore on your own terms too. We will give you the full directions to the venue on booking. It is roughly a 1-hour drive from London.

Train

The train takes 1 hour from London Victoria we recommend the following trains for your return journey.

Depart London Victoria 14.54 direct train to Lewes arriving 15.56

Depart Lewes 12.46 pm direct train to London Victoria arriving 14:12 pm

Taxis

The venue is 20 minutes by car from Lewes station
