Bank Holiday Yoga Retreat Weekend in Norfolk

Join us in August for our bank holiday yoga retreat weekend in Norfolk. Stay mid week or for a long weekend in our stunning barn venue set in private grounds, with opportunities for wild lake swimming, exploring the Norfolk countryside, and experiencing all that summer have to offer.

One of the best times of year to stay at this retreat centre, when the summer is at its peak and the grounds are truly stunning in all their glory.

Enjoy yoga outside in the sunshine in the morning to energise and enjoy a more restorative practice in the evening. The bank holidays are perfect time to unwind, relax and cleanse the body and mind.

Stay in our gorgeous courtyard barn rooms and enjoy the deep relaxation and new found energy a weekend of yoga, meditation, and pranayama can bring you.

Explore the local surroundings and enjoy being in the countryside, away from the frenetic pace of life in your day to day. Holkham beach is nearby for those who would like a beach day in our free time.

This retreat is suitable for anyone who’d like a short break away with wellness, healthy food and yoga. Beginners are welcome as well as all ages.

Venue

As an eco-retreat centre, everything has been built with sustainability at the heart of everything they do. There is a swimming lake where you can row boats, a newly developed meandering garden with paths, a Japanese garden and fire pits to stargaze in the evenings.

New for 2021 is a Kitchen Garden Cafe where you can enjoy a latte or chai and connect with others staying at the venue. There is also an outdoor heated pool.

Yoga

Our classes on this bank holiday yoga retreat are really special, with natural light coming in to the purpose built, high ceiling yoga shala. You can really start to harness the energy and new beginnings.

The morning classes will be heart opening and creative flow sequences in conjunction with pranayama (control of breath). Along with with mantra, mudra, bandha sound healing.

They are suitable for all and our approach to yoga is to help you become the full ‘you’. The classes will end with a deeply restful and soothing meditation and savasana. Allowing you leave the class lighter and full of vitality (and ready for brunch).

Spend the day walking in the abundant countryside or treating yourself to a holistic treatment. Our restorative yoga sessions in the evening are the perfect opportunity to deeply relax and unwind.

About the teacher

Louise is a warm and enlightening teacher who uses yoga to help you feel good!. Louise has spent time in India, where she studied and practiced yoga extensively, training to teach vinyasa flow in the foothills of the Himalayas.

She is an advocate for using the spiritual, heart opening nature of yoga to help you live a more peaceful and contented life. Louise teaches a mixture of Hatha Flow, Yin and meditation on her retreats, but is also a qualified life coach and reiki healer.

Retreat schedule

The yoga retreat starts from 4 pm on so that you can settle in and relax before the yoga class that starts at 6 pm – 8 pm and then dinner.

We finish at 11 am after the usual morning schedule and breakfast.

Cuisine

We believe that our retreats should be nurturing in every way. So our Vitality Chefs will create tasty, healthy, vegetarian meals for you from local, seasonal produce.

All of our food is gently detoxing and we cater to various dietary preferences. Our guests are always impressed by our creative, flavoursome dishes — that’s because the food is just as important to us as the yoga.

Accommodation

Luxury en-suite rooms combine a rustic charm with quirky modern twists. They are nestled in a courtyard formation around the Barn which is the yoga, dining and chill-out space.

The main barn has underfloor heating throughout, wood burners and big cosy sofas in a living space to relax into. Each bedroom has original artworks by renowned artist Oliver Barnett, giving each room a unique interpretation of a natural scene.

All of the bedrooms and bathrooms have their own underfloor heating. They also have super comfortable, extra thick sprung mattresses and high-quality cotton linen.

Twin or double rooms: The rooms are spacious enough for two people to share a room comfortably, with cosy single beds and crisp linen. The beautiful en-suite bathrooms have either a bath or a shower room.

Triple rooms: These rooms have the same thoughtful eco-design as the twin or double rooms with an extra bed for the third person. There is a spacious en-suite bathroom also.

Single rooms: We have limited single rooms available and they have a single supplement of £150.

Location and how to get here

By Car
We are situated in Norfolk to the east of Kings Lynn. The nearest town is Swaffham, to the South. If you are driving, we send out travel information in the welcome pack.

By train
The train station is Downham Market, 30 minutes from the venue. We offer a complimentary service to arrange taxi share if you catch the recommended train times.
