May Bank Holiday Yoga and Wellness Retreat in Norfolk

Description

2024 Dates

3 – 6 May
24 – 27 May

Escape to the rolling landscape of North Norfolk, where you can find tranquility and rejuvenation. Our retreat venue is located near Swaffham, an old market town, and is just a 30-minute drive away from the beautiful beaches of Holkham and Wells-by-the-sea.

Come and spend the May bank holiday weekend on a wellness and yoga retreat. May is the perfect time to enjoy the sun when the warmth of summer has arrived and has given the grounds of this stunning venue time to flourish so that it radiates colours of lush green, sparkling blue from the lake, reds, oranges and purples of the wild flowers throughout.

Our guests love it here and we have been running our yoga retreats here for 12 years. As an eco-retreat centre, everything has been built with sustainability at the heart of everything they do.

There is a swimming lake where you can row boats, an outdoor heated swimming pool, a newly developed meandering garden with paths, a Japanese garden and fire pits to stargaze in the evenings.

Find a connection to nature in the expansive grounds and find connection with new people, and reconnect to you and feel rested and calm.

Enjoy a guided walk to Castle Acre and the next day take a day trip to Holkham beach. On the final day relax in the grounds and enjoy a yoga workshop and indulge in a massage.

Yoga

Morning yoga: During your wellness yoga retreat in Norfolk, you will be treated to 2 x 2 hour classes a day. Enjoy an energising flow class in the morning to increase flexibility and strength while making you feel relaxed, leaving plenty of time for meditation and savasana. Get what you need from each class by going inward and really listening to your inner voice and wisdom so that you can nourish and revive in the individual way that you need.

Evening yoga: The evening yoga class will be more restorative finding yourself in longer holds, allowing the body to open up in its own time. Feel grounded, calm and nourished from the evening practice.

Yoga will be practices outside weather permitting.

About the teacher

Charlotte is a qualified Ayurvedic consultant as well as Pilates, Yoga & Ayurveda Yoga teacher. She has spent the last 5 years travelling around the UK & beyond as a Retreat chef and currently runs a planet- conscious, community-focused cafe space in Essex.

She is strongly influenced by explorative movement and has a varied self-practice from Jivamukti & Hatha, to Barre and running. Through this broad spectrum of experience, Charlotte draws together different wisdoms and principles that help cultivate balance on and off the mat.

Her classes offer students lots of adaptations and options to provide a framework for playful exploration. She wants you to explore the capabilities and limitations of the body. Cuisine

Our retreat chef Magda is a plant-based food lover who can turn a humble cabbage into magic on your plate.

Her passion is cooking from seasonal, local and most sustainable ingredients possible and showcasing the power of vegetables. She loves cooking for sceptical meat lovers apprehensive about plant diets and watching how they slowly turn the corner.

One of the biggest misconceptions about veganism is hunger and the need for more protein. Magda shows you how it’s done- you will feel nourished and full, minus the food coma.

She loves preparing big feasts full of textures, flavours and colours, as food’s visual and aesthetic aspect is as important. Her heritage and travels inspire her cooking, and she loves incorporating both elements in the kitchen.

Magda lived in Hong Kong, where she could experience worldwide cuisines; she travelled through Southeast Asia, took many cooking lessons from the most authentic street food stalls, and grew up in Poland, where she learnt massive respect for seasonal and local produce, pickling, preserving and fermenting. Magda loves using native ingredients and introducing people to new flavour combinations and things they never thought they’d try.

Magda cooked at many retreats and weddings; food and cooking are my love languages, and she takes pride in sharing them with people. Food is more than just putting something on the plate; it influences our feelings. It carries emotions, stories, and memories. Food deserves a special place in our lives.

Magda’s enthusiasm and passion, combined with a chatty nature, is always welcome at the retreats, as guests are welcome to hang out with her in the kitchen, watch her cook and ask any questions.
