Spend your New Year relaxing, reflecting and restoring on our new year yoga retreat in Cornwall. Feel the need to get away for the New Year? Want to completely unwind, immerse yourself in your yoga practice and soak up some tranquility? Join us at our stunning and cosy retreat in Cornwall. Kick back, relax, stretch out the Christmas excesses and enjoy the company of new friends.

On our new year yoga retreat Cornwall you will welcome the new year in with lots of yoga, pampering treatments, walks, fabulous healthy food and workshops you will be actively relaxing the whole time. There’s a special evening schedule to bring the New Year in with setting of intentions, meditation, a delicious vegetarian feast, and dancing.

Our retreats are wonderful in winter with their open fires, story telling, cooking workshops, yoga workshops and invigorating walks. With a daily schedule of yoga in the morning and evening, tasty vegetarian meals, massages and free time to explore or relax. Join us for just a couple of days or a week this New Year.

These retreats are perfect for those who want to get away from the usual New Year celebrations, feel healthy, Alive and set positive intentions for the year ahead.

Yoga

The classes are suitable for all abilities, from beginners to intermediate and advanced levels. Everyone is welcome. We have a range of inspiring and experienced teachers who are well practiced at adapting the class for everyone’s level.

Whether it be Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Ashtanga, Sivananda, Yin or others, all classes cover pranayama, asanas and meditation to help increase oxygen flow, balance, clarity and to promote a peaceful mind. Morning sessions are a more dynamic practice and the evening sessions are gentle with lots of stretches, meditation and relaxation.

Your Teacher

Amy’s yoga journey began when she least expected it. For years believing the yoga was just for the calm and naturally bendy, she found a teacher that made asana gentle, nurturing and healing; fate was sealed. After becoming a yoga apprentice Amy soon realised that this was what her heart was calling her to do.

After completing her 200hr YTT in Costa Rica, Amy knew she wanted to teach in a way that made yoga accessible to everyone. With a background in working as a massage therapist in both holistic and clinical settings, Amy uses her knowledge of the body and its ranges of movement to ensure that no matter what age or ability arrived on their mat, they could feel confident to practise and her regular classes reflect that with people as young as 20 practising along side people in their 80’s.

Amy has completed trainings in Yin, yoga therapy, chair yoga, sequencing, mindfulness and advanced yoga anatomy over the years, each bringing a different dynamic to the practise.

As a massage therapist she is trained in traditional Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release and reflexology. She also works as an Ayurvedic therapist being able to do various treatments, consultations and has a real passion for yoga’s sister practise.

After completing her training in trauma sensitive yoga, she began using yoga and bodywork in women’s centres and refuges and now stands as a support worker for the Cornwall charity WRSAC.

Amy has worked as massage therapist and yoga teacher in some of Cornwall’s finest hotels, hosted retreats in Cornwall and throughout Europe as well assisted in yoga teacher trainings in Costa Rica. Each experience has taught her something new and she loves that here is sill so much to come.

Amy’s style of teaching comes from a place of nurturing. She wants you to feel free to explore the capabilities of your own body, respect your boundaries and learn how to heal and protect it. By blending strong, grounded hatha practises with the freedom found in Scaravelli and vinyasa she believes that each practise can help create the perfect balance between flexibility and stability in both body and mind.

When Amy is not her mat or around a massage couch she is at home walking the beautiful coastline of Cornwall with her two dogs, planning her next adventure and pretending she is a great surfer.

Cuisine

We bring our own handpicked chefs with us to the retreats to create delicious fresh, healthy, nourishing vegetarian food. They come up with the most innovative dishes which are truly impressive and leave you feeling content and energised ready for all your activities.

Accommodation

Your accommodation in Cornwall is simply stunning. It is a traditional Cornish stone farmhouse that has been recently renovated to 5 star luxury. Set in 15 acres of private grounds with a woodland with a stream running through it and rolling hills with breath taking views of the Mithian Valley.We can sleep 10 guests over New Year in the farmhouse and the studio.

There’s no single occupancy rooms available over New Year

The Farmhouse: This is the main hub of the retreat, where you will gather for delicious meals, herbal teas and great chats.

The main farmhouse sleeps 10 in cosy 4 twin or double rooms with en-suite, two other doubles and an additional twin.

The Studio: This is a beautiful space best suited to a couple or friends who don’t mind sharing a double bed – who want the complete privacy. A self contained apartment with wood burner and kitchen, it’s a place to get cosy and totally switch off.

Lots of space: There are lots of areas and conservatories for you to relax in and feel like you are getting away from everyone to relax and have some personal space to read a book, enjoy the views and sit and while away the afternoon or evening.

Retreat Schedule

The retreat begins on the 28th December at 4pm on the Friday with time to settle in before the first yoga class at 6pm. Dinner will be served at 8pm. The retreat ends at 11am on the 1st January 2020 after a new years day brunch.

The January re-set the new year retreat Starts at 5pm on January 1st 2020 and finishes on January 4th at 11am.

7.30 am: Hot lemon and ginger and protein snacks pre-yoga
8 am: Silent walk in the tranquil surrounding countryside before yoga
8.30 am – 10.30am: Morning yoga & meditation class
10.30am: Brunch served of wholesome warming foods and teas
11am-5pm: Free time for activities, walks, massage, or just relax at the venue. Packed lunch provided
5.30pm – 7.30pm: Evening yoga & meditation class
7.30pm: Delicious Vegetarian Dinner
10pm: Bedtime!

  • How to get here

By Car:
The nearest town is St Agnes which is 5 minutes drive to the venue. On booking we release the actual address of the retreat, until then it is a real retreat surprise!

By Train:
The nearest station is Truro. It’s about 7 miles from the retreat. The journey from London is about 4.5 – 5 hours depending on the route you take. We have recommended train times below. Please book these trains/or similar times if coming from a different direction, so that we can organise a taxi share for you and and save you some money. Super off peak starts at £110 return from London Paddington.

Sleeper train: This is an option to travel over night – it’s a fun option that adds to your holiday experience to Cornwall and you get to sleep through the whole journey!

Taxis from Truro to yoga retreat: Approx. £20 (4 people) 20% more with bigger car 6 people.

By Plane:
We recommend this as long as you offset your carbon foot print please!. Fly to Newquay. From London it takes about 1 hour and prices are from £82 if you book in advance.
