Pilates and Yoga Retreat at Desa Seni
This pilates and yoga retreat at Desa Seni is one of our most popular, even amongst our teachers! Every two years we return to the island of gods for our Bali fix. For the fourth time, our beautiful teacher of teachers, Tash Barnard, will be leading us through her innovative and knowledgable Pilates classes and inspire you to do more than you thought you were capable of.
Tracy Sue de Plassis, classical Pilates and Iyengar Yoga teacher will join us and add that second layer of teaching with her patience, knowlegde and wisdom.
Exercise besides, of course there will be plenty of time to explore the natural and cultural wonders of Bali itself, be it the beaches, the temples, an evening walk through the rice fields or the creative bustle of Ubud’s shop-lined alleys.
Natasja Barnard is an internationally renowned Pilates instructor and teacher trainer for BASI (Body Arts and Science International). She owns a successful Pilates studio in Balito, South Africa and has been leading retreats for Pilates Retreat Asia since 2013.
The delightful Yoga resort hosts a tiny restaurant with an extremely healthful and delicious menu. Meat is available (chicken), but we will mostly serve vegetarian and vegan options. Most of the ingredients used come from their own organic garden, which is integral part of the resort.
Surrounded by paddy fields and an organic garden, our home for the week will be the much sought after Desa Seni Village Resort in Changgu. Created by two Australian friends, the eco-resort is a labour of love and a hand-picked collection of beautiful antique wooden homes and traditional furnishings, representing different cultures and traditions of Indonesian lifestyle.
Each villa has its own style and character and the attention to detail is remarkable. It might take you the week to discover all the little details and treasures your cosy home has to offer. There is a saltwater pool with a sundeck, an organic restaurant supplied from the on-site garden, and a spa offering holistic treatments.
There are grassy pathways and hidden gazebos and lots of space to live and breathe and laugh and be. And of course, there is our beautiful outdoor Yoga studio that we will be using for the classes and workshops. The closest beach is just 15 minutes away and easily reached by tuktuk, taxi or bicycle.
We cannot imagine a better place for a retreat. Did I mention the food is delicious?
Prices are in US Dollars
SHARED VILLAGE HOUSE $1750
Stay in one of Desa Seni’s unique Indonesian village homes and feel like you’ve truly arrived in paradise. Each house is a little different and we love them all. Some overlook the organic gardens or the pool, others have a private porch or a gazebo in the garden. All villas have aircon and private bathrooms and most are spacious enough to share even with someone you don’t know.
SINGLE VILLAGE HOME $2250
For more privacy, chose to have your villa all to yourself. Read a book on your porch or invite one of your newly found friends (after all you might be doing partner yoga together!) to join you for a fresh ginger lemon tea. As all houses can be converted into twin shares, you will find yourself with ample space in your new Balinese home.
