Summer Yoga Weekend Retreats in Oxfordshire

Give yourself a well deserved break and join us on one of our Summer Yoga weekend retreats in Oxfordshire where you can unwind, relax, and cleanse body and mind.

Situated alongside one of the Oxfordshire canal routes, Thrupp is a pretty and thriving hamlet, especially in summer when the canal-side comes alive. There are lots of walks either along the canal or in the surrounding woodlands, or hire a canoe or SUP down the canal and then enjoy an afternoon tea in the cute cafe opposite our venue.

Stay in our gorgeous manor house and enjoy the peace that the meditation practices bring to you during the silent walk and in the yoga classes, and feel the body loosen and open up with the asana practices.

Explore the local surroundings and enjoy being in the countryside away from the frenetic pace of life in your day to day. Enjoy a massage from one of our expert in-house therapists or take time to rest and just be.

If you are feeling adventurous take a canoe and paddle down the canal or hire a canal boat for the afternoon!

Revive in the morning with energising yoga in our beautiful yoga space and the day is yours to unwind in the grounds or explore and even take out a canoe! Evening yoga can be outside on the lawn to the dusk light.

Accommodation

The rooms at our Manor house retreat are beautifully and newly decorated to a high standard. They are cosy and spacious and have views of the Oxfordshire waterways.

The house has a cosy and welcoming living room with a large spacious yoga room flooded with light and views of the walled garden.

Cuisine

We believe that our retreats should be nurturing in every way. So our Vitality Chefs will create tasty, healthy, vegetarian meals for you from local, seasonal produce.

All of our food is gently detoxing and we cater to various dietary preferences. Our guests are always impressed by our creative, flavoursome dishes — that’s because the food is just as important to us as the yoga.

Yoga

A large yoga space with wall to wall patio doors for light and ventilation, opt for indoor yoga or, weather permitting, enjoy yoga in the spacious and private walled garden.

Morning Yoga

During our strengthening and energising morning classes you can expect: creative flow sequences, core strengthening, pranayama (control of breath) practices, and even experimentation into thai yoga massage and partner yoga. The class will end with a deeply restful and soothing meditation and sivasana that will allow you to take stock, leaving the class lighter and full of vitality (and ready for brunch!)

Evening Yoga
After a bright and restful day walking in the abundant countryside or treating yourself to a holistic treatment, our restorative yoga sessions are the perfect opportunity to deeply relax and unwind. Allow Ros to facilitate a deepening and lightening within you, melting away physical and mental tension. Ros will be teaching a slower class in the evening, with aspects of yin, philosophy and incredible visual meditation, finishing off with an extended yoga nidra and savasana.

About the teacher

Corrina is one of our senior teachers, she is an authentic and thoughtful teacher who strongly believes that yoga is for everyone. In Corrina’s classes you are empowered to listen to and trust your body, she encourages a mindful, inquisitive practice with benefits that extend outside of your yoga class.

In Corrina’s classes you can expect an observant Hatha based practice full of somatic inquiry; using your breath to guide you and reawaken parts of yourself you may have previously forgotten about!

Retreat schedule

For the June retreat:
The retreat starts from 4pm on Friday, with the first yoga class starting at 6pm. Don’t worry if you are running late but try and arrive Friday evening so you can enjoy the whole of Saturday. We finish at 3pm on Sunday, after a light lunch to send you on your way.

For the August retreat:
The yoga retreat starts from 3pm on the Monday, which gives you time to settle in before the first yoga class starting at 5pm. Dinner is at 7pm and then the retreat follows the schedule opposite. Don’t worry if you arrive late on the Monday. We finish at 10am on the Wednesday after the morning yoga from 7am – 8.30am and brunch.

A twin/double room is for two people sharing either two single beds or a double bed. ONLY book the twin/double room if you are two people from the same household or are two friends/family who are happy to share. If this option isn’t available on the website please email us to ask for availability.

These are our recommended train times so that we can organise taxi share. If a train is cheaper earlier then book it and you can wait for the taxi share. Booking after means getting your own/sharing another taxi. The retreat is only 4 miles from Oxford Parkway station, so about 10 minutes in a cab.
