Yoga and Fitness Retreat at a luxury health resort
Get fit and healthy without spending hours in the gym! The retreat combines daily sessions of uplifting yoga to open and awaken your body plus fitness sessions outside in beautiful scenery and sunshine to boost to the ‘feel good’ factor of exercising in the great outdoors. Enjoy beautiful hikes into the nearby mountains, guided bike rides and uber delicious healthy food. And, when you’re ready for a little rest and relaxation you can flop on a lounger by the pool, pamper yourself with lovely treatments, take a snooze in your spacious suite or enjoy some water ‘therapy’ in the newly opened Spa.
And don’t worry, you don’t have to be super fit to join as the instructors will inspire you to find your boundaries, not push you beyond them.
You’ll be staying at a purpose built Health Resort 45 minutes north of Alicante on the outskirts of La Nucia. This resort opened in 2009 with one aim in mind – to create a special place that provides the services and facilities necessary to achieve an optimal lifestyle through complementary and conventional medicine, good nutrition, exercise, stress management and personal development services.
On site fitness facilities are superb and include; a 12.5m indoor pool, infrared sauna, an outdoor lagoon pool with sunbathing terraces, a multi-purpose ball court, two gyms – one with free weights, cardio machines, boxing and Pilates equipment and the other with a range of weight-assisted isokinetic machines to sculpt and tone all main muscle groups in a 30 minute circuit, a yoga and Pilates studio, peaceful meditation room, a Spa that offers pampertastic facials, massages and body treatments plus – opening in 2017 – an onsite thermal Spa with jacuzzi, steam room, ice plunge pool and infrared sauna.
Daily sessions of body loving yoga with super experienced teachers. You’ll be practicing hatha, vinyasa flow and yin yoga to ensure you experience the full breadth and depth of what yoga can do for your body and health.
Pilates and Fitness
Pilates sessions with our superb instructor who’s loved and highly rated by our guests. Plus three group outdoor interval training sessions with a personal trainer, a guided coastal walk – a flat 14k walk along the coast to nudge your body into action, a guided bike ride – an easy 2.5hour ride away from the coast along an old railway line through quiet orange groves and country houses.
Don’t worry, everything is optional as we like our retreats to be super relaxed. If there’s a morning you want to sleep in, please sleep in. If there’s an afternoon you would rather explore the town than come to class, that’s ok! Whatever your soul needs, please do that. The classes are designed to be appropriate for all levels.
We’ll nourish your body and soul with a super healthy vegetarian diet – 3 delicious meals a day freshly prepared by our private Chef, using locally sourced seasonal ingredients bursting with their natural goodness. Dairy and eggs are sometimes used but we can adapt dishes to suit a vegan diet if necessary. Some evenings locally caught fish is offered too for those that would like it.
Since we tend to be fairly active on these holidays – yoga, swimming, walking, fitness training & Pilates – we don’t count calories but we don’t add them un-necessarily either!. Expect to nourish your body with a variety of amazing tastes and colours.
Your day begins with some fresh fruits and herbal tea to help you slowly awaken and then, after morning yoga, there’s a superb buffet breakfast where you can help yourself to hot egg dishes, wholesome cereals, chia seed muesli, seasonal fruits, local cheeses, yogurts, fresh juices, smoothies, oven roasted tomatoes and locally grown creamy avocados and assorted seed breads.
Gluten free and dairy free options are widely available. Lunches are normally 2-course starting with a vegetarian pate, soup or crudities and dips followed by a large fresh and crispy salad together with a vegetarian source of protein to re-build your muscles after working out. Evenings are a relaxed dining experience in the restaurant where we’ll nourish you with 3-course super tasty vegetarian meal including a healthy dessert, as life’s not about denying yourself small pleasures!

* As we don’t ask – nor expect – you to share (unless you want to share with a friend) all solo guests are given their own suite for an additional £75 for the week. Additional nights can be booked at the end of your retreat at £70 per night to include; bed, breakfast and continued use of the on site Spa, gyms and restaurant. How to get here
Private group transfer from/to Alicante airport is available for this retreat. The transfer aims to leave the airport on arrival day between 11am -1pm and arrive back at airport on final day for midday. Please ensure your flight lands no later than 12.15pm on arrival day and departs no earlier than 1.30pm on the final day. Transfers take 75 mins to the hotel and cost €40 each way, payable at the hotel. Transfers must be pre-booked. For flights outside of our transfer times, we can book either a private taxi for you (circa €120) or a seat on a local ‘resort hopper’ bus service (circa €45) – please ask for details before booking flights. We recommend Skyscanner to search for the best airfare.
