YOGA, FORM+FLAVORS Tuscany Retreat

Besides a daily yoga class, we will also enjoy walks around the scenic Tuscan hills and a meditation walk will be included in the week as well. “FLAVORS”.

We’ll not only balance the week with the healthy “form” part of the retreat, but also with learning about and experiencing firsthand the amazing flavors of this region. Each day we’ll be able to enjoy mouth-watering cuisine, as well as take part in tastings from wine and olive oil, to cheeses, gelato, and of course the Italian espresso.

From award-winning restaurants to family farms and kitchens, learning and enjoying the food will be an added bonus to working up an appetite during our classes and walks!.

Trips include visits to small villages, large cities, and outdoor activities, even a day at a unique “Sensorial” thermal spa where guests will enjoy a treatment “circuit” through thermal waters, aromatherapy, chromotherapy, and relaxation pods.

Julian and Erin will be your guides around the city, museums, and outlying walks. Enjoy seeing world famous works of art, as well as monuments, one-of-a-kind lookouts, and feeling the modern bustle of this compact city.

Daily meditation and yoga classes will be offered in a way to relax, stimulate, and help guests grow in their own personal practice. Classes are open to all levels, beginner to practiced, and can range from gentle, restorative, and more vigorous vinyasa flow and ashtanga styles.

Style and class levels will be determined and moulded to fit participating students’ needs, and with a small intimate retreat class size, students will be able to get personalized attention and comfortability to deeply explore their practice.

Depending on each retreat location, classes will be held in a dedicated indoor yoga space and some also offer outdoor options as well for us to use if the weather is agreeable.

Healthful, vegetarian food is part of the retreat experience, including breakfasts and dinners daily, as well as selected lunches. Enjoy cuisine which combines creativity and flavours with a special attention to creating balanced meals.

Wholesome ingredients, freshness of the foods, cooking times and methods are present in every meal you will enjoy. Meals will be enjoyed on the terrace in the shade of the oak trees, or served by candlelight under the pergola or in the veranda.

Plus, throughout the week we’ll have a chance to sample many regional wines, aperitifs, and other tastes such as cheeses and various other specialties.

This magnificent yoga retreat will take place in the picturesque Italian countryside, along the border of Tuscany and Umbria. A beautifully restored farmhouse awaits your arrival, complete with sprawling vistas over the rolling hills in all directions.

Former cantinas and stables on the ground floor have been transformed into apartments that are works of art. One can immediately see the careful attention that went into restoring, decorating, and preparing these rooms. Two large apartments are divided into different rooms of various size accommodations, each complete with private bathroom and linens.

A large and open art studio awaits those interested in exploring various creative mediums while visiting, and also can serve as location for an “art as meditation” course or a journaling room.

The grounds are spacious with plenty of outdoor space to sit alone, relax on the outside terrace overlooking the meadows, or enjoying an open-air lunch. Also, the house is located on a large estate ground with plenty of hiking available and even a pool to cool you down in the warmer summer months.

Host and villa owner Julian (from EASEL&LENS Art Courses) and his team, will spoil guests with their hospitality, mouth-watering cuisine, and fun-packed side trips.

Julian’s extensive knowledge of Italian cities and art history will allow for a special and unique look into the surrounding areas. Also, this art instructor will share his love of the medium in his session of “art as meditation”.

Don’t be surprised when you leave feeling as if you have made friends for life. You’ll almost feel part of the family when you stay at their lovely property.

What past guests have said

“My wife and I have participated on four of these retreats. Each time we have been completely captivated by the experience. The locations are absolutely spectacular. The food and wine is local, healthy, fresh and delicious. The daily trips are personal, structured (but not overly so), enthralling, adventurous and chic. This is not your uncle’s travel guide tour. Erin offers an intimate and deeply restorative experience. It is invitation to form lifetime friendships with people who are curious, joyful and fun. Many times we feel like we are not only getting a sense for a place but being invited to peer behind the veil and see what is invisible to many travelers, all informed by Erin’s appreciative eye for beauty, story and style. Finally the yoga is inclusive and healing. I love the music, the settings, the flow and Erin’s ability to meet you where you are at in your practice. This is our first choice for international travel, personal restoration and inspiration. We highly recommend the experience!”. – Rene – California, USA

“I can’t thank you and Julian enough for the amazing experience in Italy. It was everything I needed and then some. Thank you to both of you for your hospitality, fun spirit, teaching of yoga/art and warm presence. It was a blessing to me how our group came together and had such a fun time…I will most definitely be back on one of your retreats in the future.” Jessie, California, USA

This retreat in Tuscany was the perfect balance of culture, relaxation, and joie de vivre. Erin curates a retreat that makes you feel the furthest thing from a tourist, exposing you to the local haunts and gems of Tuscany. Thank you for so many beautiful memories made in Tuscany. I can’t begin to tell you what an amazing time I had! What an incredible, beautiful, and graceful woman you are. I can’t wait to join you around the world again! Thank you.” Marja, New York
