Wellness, Yoga and Meditation Retreat in Oxfordshire

On our yoga and meditation retreat in Thrupp, Oxfordshire be prepared to switch off, let go and give permission to yourself to totally relax.

During Autumn the canal comes alive with dramatic colours and light, with the leaves falling and nature preparing for Winter. Stay in our gorgeous manor house and enjoy the peace that the meditation practices bring to you during the silent walk and in the yoga classes, and feel the body loosen and open up with the asana practices, shedding the Summer excesses in exchange for a more energised and lighter you.

Explore the local surroundings and enjoy being in the countryside away from the frenetic pace of life in your day today. Walk along the canals, into the surrounding countryside or hire a canoe and paddle instead! Enjoy a massage from one of our expert in-house therapists or take time to rest and just be.

Cuisine

We believe that our retreats should be nurturing in every way. So our Vitality Chefs will create tasty, healthy, vegetarian meals for you from local, seasonal produce.

All of our food is gently detoxing and we cater to various dietary preferences. Our guests are always impressed by our creative, flavoursome dishes — that’s because the food is just as important to us as the yoga.

Yoga

Morning Yoga
During our strengthening and energising morning classes you can expect: creative flow sequences, core strengthening, pranayama (control of breath) practices, and even experimentation into thai yoga massage and partner yoga. The class will end with a deeply restful and soothing meditation and sivasana that will allow you to take stock, leaving the class lighter and full of vitality (and ready for brunch!)

Evening Yoga
After a bright and restful day walking in the abundant countryside or treating yourself to a holistic treatment, our restorative yoga sessions are the perfect opportunity to deeply relax and unwind. Allow Ros to facilitate a deepening and lightening within you, melting away physical and mental tension. Ros will be teaching a slower class in the evening, with aspects of yin, philosophy and incredible visual meditation, finishing off with an extended yoga nidra and savasana.

About the teacher

Ros is a bubbly and well loved teacher, known for her inspirational and playful classes which focus on the healing power of the breath and its ability to create space in the body and mind. She is an advanced Forrest yoga teacher who teaches you how to listen to your body and modify the poses to suit what you need in that moment. Aswell as Forrest and Vinyasa flow, Ros teaches Yin Yoga; the deep, calm classes offering the perfect balance to her powerful Forrest classes.

Retreat schedule

The yoga retreat starts from 4 pm on Friday, with the first yoga class starting at 6 pm.Don’t worry if you are running late but try and arrive Friday evening so you can enjoy the whole of Saturday. We finish at 3pm on Sunday, after a light lunch to send you on your way.

8:40am-10:40am: Morning yoga and meditation class
10.40am: Healthy nutritious veggie brunch
11:30 am- 2.30pm: Massage & free time; explore the waterway, go for a walk or try taking out a canoe!

5:30pm-7:30 pm: More treatments to pamper yourself or free time
7:45pm: Evening yoga and meditation class

We base our prices on two people sharing a room. If you are coming on your own, you are welcome to share a twin room with another guest of the same sex, or if you would like your own, there is a £150 single supplement.

Friday: London Marylebone departs 14.35 arrives Oxford Parkway 15.31
Sunday: Departs 15:47 Oxford Parkway arrives London Marylebone 16:45

These are our recommended train times so that we can organise taxi share. If a train is cheaper earlier then book it and you can wait for the taxi share. Booking after means getting your own/sharing another taxi. The retreat is only 4 miles from Oxford Parkway station, so about 10 minutes in a cab.
