Yoga, Surf & Walking Retreat in Cornwall

Enjoy a five day Yoga, Surf and Walking retreat this autumn, in a stunning country Estate in Cornwall, located only a ten minutes drive from some of the most famous beaches in North Cornwall. The prime location gives the perfect opportunity to be as relaxed and restored or as adventurous and active as your heart desires.

Stay in a choice of three separate properties and come together for yoga, dining and activities. When not enjoying yoga in the large Apple Barn Studio the lawns create a perfect space for classes too.

The garden surrounding the manor house and additional properties is a 22-acre expanse of lawns, ornamental lakes, camelia woods, orchards and an incredible walled vegetable garden.

We will be checking out the local area which is blessed with an abundance of coastal path walks, beaches, dunes, seaside towns and of course, surf.

This retreat is also available in winter – from the 6th – 9th and 9th – 13th November. Click here for details.

Our classes will take place in the beautifully converted barn and it is a vast space with high ceilings, wooden beams and plenty of light! If we are blessed with some lovely autumn weather, there will also be the opportunity to head out into the gardens.

Our morning yoga classes will be an uplifting but gentle flow class blending pranayama and movement to start our day! Evening sessions will be dedicated to yin, restorative and meditation style practises to really embrace the opportunity to truly relax and heal.

Your Teacher

Amy Williams

Amy’s yoga journey began when she least expected it. For years believing the yoga was just for the calm and naturally bendy, she found a teacher that made asana gentle, nurturing and healing; fate was sealed. After becoming a yoga apprentice Amy soon realised that this was what her heart was calling her to do.

After completing her 200hr YTT in Costa Rica, Amy knew she wanted to teach in a way that made yoga accessible to everyone. With a background in working as a massage therapist in both holistic and clinical settings, Amy uses her knowledge of the body and its ranges of movement to ensure that no matter what age or ability arrived on their mat, they could feel confident to practise and her regular classes reflect that with people as young as 20 practising along side people in their 80’s.

Amy has completed trainings in Yin, yoga therapy, chair yoga, sequencing, mindfulness and advanced yoga anatomy over the years, each bringing a different dynamic to the practise.

As a massage therapist she is trained in traditional Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release and reflexology. She also works as an Ayurvedic therapist being able to do various treatments, consultations and has a real passion for yoga’s sister practise.

After completing her training in trauma sensitive yoga, she began using yoga and bodywork in women’s centres and refuges and now stands as a support worker for the Cornwall charity WRSAC.

Amy has worked as massage therapist and yoga teacher in some of Cornwall’s finest hotels, hosted retreats in Cornwall and throughout Europe as well assisted in yoga teacher trainings in Costa Rica. Each experience has taught her something new and she loves that here is sill so much to come.

Amy’s style of teaching comes from a place of nurturing. She wants you to feel free to explore the capabilities of your own body, respect your boundaries and learn how to heal and protect it. By blending strong, grounded hatha practises with the freedom found in Scaravelli and vinyasa she believes that each practise can help create the perfect balance between flexibility and stability in both body and mind.

When Amy is not her mat or around a massage couch she is at home walking the beautiful coastline of Cornwall with her two dogs, planning her next adventure and pretending she is a great surfer.

‘Yoga is called a practice for a good reason. No matter how long you have practising there is always something new to learn and discover – every time you come to your mat you will have a different experience. That, is the beauty of the practice

We are a plant-based company and take great pride in creating incredible food on our retreats. Our chefs create diverse and imaginative menus that really highlight the seasonality of local produce. We are able to cater to all dietary requirements.

On our autumn Cornwall retreats you can expect nourishing post-yoga brunch to fuel your day, a light lunch and a wholesome two-course evening meal.

Hannah Rebecca has been a health seeker and health advocate since 2012. She has been experimenting with different ways of whole food living ever since and loves to share inspiration with anyone who wishes to receive it.

After finding a resolution to a severe long term eating disorder through the power of whole plant-based food, alongside yoga asana, mediation and devotional singing, she has found her soul’s deepest calling to share healthy healing habits in all of the forms she has learnt and continues to study ancient and new healing modalities, especially from the yogic tradition.

Since Hannah’s love for all things health and well being manifested, she has managed three juice bars in Manchester, cooked for health & wellbeing retreats, events and festivals under her business – Healthy Healing Habits, qualified as a yoga teacher and become a devotional/sacred song carrier. Her work has taken her around the U.K, Europe, Asia & North America and continues to find its way to new lands every year.

Shopping as sustainably and locally as possible is one of Hannah’s top priorities and she loves to get experimental when it comes to seasonal herbs and vegetables. Hannah loves to get people excited and inspired about whole food plant-based cooking and expresses that in every dish she serves.

Recently converted and restored, this truly stunning estate manages to maintain the grandeur of a true Manor house while embracing a modern feel.

Beautiful touches such as White Company London linen in all of the bedrooms and REN products in all of the bathrooms add little luxuries that make the whole experience feel even more special.

The estate is split into three properties. The main one being the Manor House, the hub of the home as this is where the kitchen and dining room are located. In fact, you may recognise the kitchen as it is where celebrity chef Rick Stein has used to film his TV shows many times! Within the Manor are 8 bright and spacious bedrooms that all boast views across the gardens. There are also multiple communal areas with a drawing room, study and library for you to relax in.

The Apple Store is a more modern space only a skip across the courtyard from the Manor. With 6 bedrooms there is also a beautiful sitting room with plenty of comfy sofas and its own kitchen. The Apple Store is also where the yoga studio is located! Through a door in the kitchen you find yourself in the bright and super spacious yoga studio boasting stunning oak beams, pillars and high ceilings.

If you want total privacy, there is also the adorable Laundry Cottage. A fully self-contained cottage attached to the Manor that is full of character and a beautiful first-floor bedroom perfect for a solo traveller or a couple. As a former laundry, this building was where the water was heated to wash the linen and has an enormous original Tudor inglenook fireplace fitted with a wood-burning stove.
