About the host / Yoga Teacher

Victoria Godfrey
Nutritional Therapist, dip CNM, BANT, CHNC
Hatha Yoga Teacher, Meditation Teacher

As a former TV producer, I personally experienced the pressures and stress of a fast-paced lifestyle. I understand the challenges of limited time, unhealthy eating habits, and constant exhaustion. However, I’ve discovered that simple changes to our diet and lifestyle can have a profound impact on how we feel.

Helping others create a healing environment for their bodies is my passion. Just like a car won’t function properly if you use the wrong fuel, our bodies also require proper care and nourishment when experiencing imbalance.

I’ve suffered from migraines since I was 14 and tried various remedies, but yoga has been the only practice that truly helps me manage them. Every year, I took a month off from my TV career to travel to India for yoga and Ayurvedic medicine, which provided significant relief from migraines, increased energy, and even weight loss.

Despite the positive effects of yoga, I sometimes fell back into old habits when returning to London, neglecting healthy choices and skipping yoga classes. However, during my second trip to India, I realized the profound impact of yoga on restoring balance to my body.

In 2011, I pursued yoga teacher training to better manage my migraines. I explored acupuncture, reiki, reflexology, Chinese herbs, and prescription medications over the years, but none effectively relieved my migraines and often caused side effects.

During my first pregnancy at the age of 37, doctors told me I would need blood pressure medication for life without providing guidance on nutrition. In 2012, I enrolled in a course at the College of Naturopathic Medicine, where I studied biomedicine and naturopathic nutritional therapy. This holistic approach taught me the healing and damaging potential of food, emphasizing individualized care and addressing underlying imbalances.

By prioritizing self-care and following a nutritious lifestyle, I successfully stopped taking blood pressure medication before my second child’s birth. I experienced a remarkable recovery from my second c-section, with quicker mobility and an early removal of stitches, leaving healthcare professionals amazed.

These positive changes were a result of taking better care of myself—consuming organic, homemade meals, avoiding processed foods, reducing sugar intake, and eliminating unhealthy snacks that I indulged in during my first pregnancy.

Based on the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM), I approach my work with clients by addressing underlying imbalances rather than just treating symptoms. In addition to being a hatha and pregnancy yoga teacher, I’m also a Reiki master. I’ve extensively studied yoga and meditation in Kerala, South Goa, and Rishikesh, even participating in unique experiences like a 10-day Osho Meditation course and learning ancient Kundalini practices from a Himalayan yogi and scholar. I even had the privilege of attending a yoga class led by a remarkable 104-year-old yogi.

Studying yoga, meditation, and nutrition has profoundly transformed my life, and I hope to inspire the same positive changes in others.

What past guests have said

”Hi Vicky. So sad I didn’t get to say bye to you!! Thank you so much for such a wonderful retreat. Have enjoyed every bit from the yoga, to the nutrition, to the meditation, the yurt and even the storm!! Very sad to be leaving, so wish I was staying for the rest of the week. Really hope to see you again soon. Thank you so much again, Lucy”.

”Hello you two! Just wanted to say thank you to you both for an amazing experience in Ibiza last week – seems ages ago already. The villa was a wonderful place to stay, amazing food prepared by Sam, loved my time with Fiona and really enjoyed the yoga, excellent teaching and explanation and ideas of how to progress own practice. I have been on 5 previous retreats and this was certainly one of the best, I will be back; please keep me posted on future retreats!.” Lynn

”Vicky – Thank you! I will miss you terribly – your enthusiasm and energy is contagious. I could not feel any more blessed to have been part of your first retreat. I never would have said this before but I’m convinced something drew me to your site and to you.

Please do keep in touch and know that I will always have a piece of you with me. I’m sure I will need to talk to someone as I think I was just about to break through some scary emotional bits – yesterday with you and today with Kate I found it very hard to keep it all in – and I’m NOT a cry-ey type of person. This was truly special! Love Greg
