I’ll never forget the infinite view, over the cliff’s edge of the roiling greenblue sea (180 metres above to be precise) and the sky that changed through a rainbow of colours, from the sunrise to sunset. Spectacular at anytime of day, even during the night when the endless stars shimmered and twinkled and the sound of the waves rolling softly against the shore was music to my ears. I was home.
If I ever had to describe my own, personal version of heaven, it would be here. There are some places that have a special magic and the Hacienda Xamena is one of them.
We were blessed to stay in one of their Eden suites from which we could appreciate the mesmerising views straight from the jacuzzi!. It was the perfect spot for a morning meditation and aqua yoga if there is such a thing!, before heading to the poolside for a healthy breakfast, served until 11am with plenty of fresh fruit, juices, spreads and breads.
Located in San Miguel in the northwest of the Island, many of the residents and outside guests head here for pure relaxation at La Posidonia Spa (named after the protected seaweed that grows around Ibiza), to experience the famous ‘Cascadas Suspendidas’, an outdoor thalassotherapy circuit and a series of heated infinity pools where you spend 45 minutes following the bubbles of varying temperatures and water jet strength to move from pool to pool. Of all the spa’s I had been to in the world, I had never done anything like this!. The view from here (again!), as you can see from the photo is priceless.
Massages, body wraps, facial treatments and wellness programmes are offered at the spa and I got to sample a 30 minute facial using SkinCeutical products which I thought were excellent, especially for my dry and dehydrated skin.
Another great stop to admire the view from was the atmospheric Edén Restaurant restaurant that spreads across different terraces and is romantically lit with lanterns at night. Also open to non hotel guests and very popular at sunset for dinner and cocktails.
The Hacienda Na Xamena is a must visit when you are in Ibiza and ideal for a mini wellbeing break either with your friends or your partner. You will fall in love with this peaceful and energising side of Island if you haven’t been and done so already, I guarantee it!.
