Charney Manor offers a relaxing and peaceful stay in our gorgeous countryside setting where you can explore our stunning gardens, opt for various local picturesque walks or just take some time to read in our fully stocked library. All our stays are fully catered and are all taken in our historic 13th Century dining room.

The Manor is home to 23 bedrooms all of which have private bathrooms. These bedrooms can be booked on a single occupancy basis or if a larger capacity is required, 35 guests on a shared basis or 43 guests if our Gillett’s cottage is used for additional accommodation.

Indoor communal spaces include the sitting room, social room, lower barn and the library which is fully stocked with a variety of books on yoga, meditation and spirituality.

Outdoor, there are large gardens, a secret garden, an orchard, courtyard with seating and picnic areas. We value sustainability, using local produce and fair-trade products where possible. We compost and recycle as much as possible offering our guests the use of the electric car charger and have been awarded a Bronze Green Tourism award

Located in Charney Bassett, Oxfordshire, we are located 1.5 hours from London, 20 minutes from the Picturesque Cotswold’s and 20 minutes from the historic Oxford.

All our stays are fully catered. All our meals are freshly prepared on site using locally sourced produce. We cater for a variety of dietary requirements and our catering team can specifically create a menu for your retreat.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

Charney Manor offers simple, comfortable accomodation of single and twin bedrooms. Charney Manor can accomodate up to 35 residential guests on a full occupancy, most bedrooms are ensuite, with two having private bathrooms. All bedrooms come equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, towels, complimentary shower gel and most have exquisite views of the gardens.

For larger groups, we can extend our accommodation to include the Gillett’s cottage, this will increase our Guest accommodation to sleep 43 guests in total.

The Manor
The Manor House has 9 bedrooms over three floors; 2 single, 6 twin and one double bedroom. Each of the bedrooms within the Manor House has very different characteristics, which makes each room totally unique. The Character and history filled rooms all benefit from beautiful stone windows with fantastic vies over the extensive front and side gardens.

The Vokins
The Joan Vokins Annexe has 10 bedrooms over two floors; 7 single and 3 twin. The Joan Vokins was built to replace the fire-damaged Medieval tythe barn which stood on the site previously. The rooms are simular in appearance and benefit from either rolling views over the paddock or lovely views across the Manor's central courtyard, which truly comes to life in the summer. The daffodil filled planters spring to life, the chairs, table s and parasols are welcome sight and are very much in demand on warm summer days and evenings.

The Barn
The Barn has four ground floor bedrooms; 2 single and 2 twin. Two of the rooms are adapted for disabled users. The very attractive converted barn, conference room and two bedrooms still retain the beautiful original beams. All bedrooms benefit from central courtyard views or views over the back garden across the converted cottages know as the Gillett's.

The Gilletts Cottage
The Gilletts cottage in the grounds of Charney Manor offers another five bedrooms including three twin rooms and two single rooms. The Gilletts is available for self-catering groups or private use and can also be offered as additional accommodation for residential groups which are using Charney Manor as a whole.

Location and how to get there

Located in village of Charney Bassett just 5 minutes from the main A420 and 30 minutes from M4. Under half an hour from Oxford and 40 minutes from Swindon. Between North Wessex Downs and Cotswolds.
