We look for principle teachers/instructors to hire our fully catered venue to bring in likeminded clients for Yoga, Pilates, meditation and training retreats.
Charney Manor offers a relaxing and peaceful stay in our gorgeous countryside setting where you can explore our stunning gardens, opt for various local picturesque walks or just take some time to read in our fully stocked library. All our stays are fully catered and are all taken in our historic 13th Century dining room.
We offer 23 bedrooms all of which have private bathrooms. These can be booked on a single occupancy basis or if a larger capacity is required, 35 guests on a shared basis or 43 guests if our Gillett’s cottage is used for additional accommodation.
Indoor communal spaces include the sitting room, social room, lower barn and the library which is fully stocked with a variety of books on yoga, meditation and spirituality.
Outdoor, there are large gardens, a secret garden, an orchard, courtyard with seating and picnic areas.
Charney Manor values sustainability, using local produce and fair-trade products where possible. We compost and recycle as much as possible and offer our guests the use of the electric car charger. We have been awarded a Bronze Green Tourism award.
Located in Charney Bassett, Oxfordshire, we are located only 1.5 hours from London, 20 minutes from the Picturesque Cotswold’s and 20 minutes from the historic Oxford.
All our stays are fully catered. All our meals are freshly prepared on site using locally sourced produce. We cater for a variety of dietary requirements and our catering team can specifically create a menu for your Retreat.
Accommodation options and bathrooms
Charney Manor offers single occupancy accommodation to 23 Retreatants. Two of these bedrooms have private bathrooms. All bedrooms have tea and coffee facilities, ensuite, towels and shower gel.
35 Retreatants can be accommodated on a shared occupancy basis.
We also have a five-bedroom cottage that can be used for additional accommodation offering further accommodation to 8 Retreatants (43 Retreatants in total).
The Gillett’s cottage can he hired separately on a self-catered basis. It has 5 bedrooms (3 Twin/double and 2 single) Lounge, Dining room, kitchenette, shower room, bathroom and an outdoor seating area.
The Barn, our main indoor space which is ideal for yoga and Pilates. It can hold up to 23 people. Our historic Solar can accommodate 30 guests, this space is ideal for meditation or lectures.
We have a social room that can be used as a treatment room. We have various outdoor spaces which are ideal to hold yoga classes in milder or warm weather.
We have several local picturesque walks including one to Cherbury Camp. We also have a variety of outdoor games which can be played within our gardens, to include boules, crocket, American football, Bowles, archery and connect four.

Location and how to get there
By train from London Paddington to Didcot Parkway / Oxford and by taxi onto Charney Manor.
From the Midlands and the North - Follow the A34 towards Oxford and Newbury. Turn off when you see the signs for the A420 Swindon road and follow this for 12 Miles. Turn left at the Charney Bassett sign, about a mile from the roundabout crossed by the A415 to Witney. Charney Bassett is about 2 miles from the A420.
From the Southwest, leave the M4 at Junction 15. Follow the A420. About 4 miles past Faringdon, turn right at the turn signed for Charney Bassett. Charney Bassett is about 2 miles from the A420.
From London and the Southeast
Take the M4 and exit Junction 13, onto the A34 heading north towards Oxford. Take the exit for Wantage and follow the A417 into Wantage, head to grove and follow the signpost to Charney Bassett.
Charney Manor is clearly sign posted and is next to the small village church on the Lyford Road on the outskirts of Charney Bassett. The car park is on the right as you enter the drive.
